The selected objects on the map are usually painted by a bright color to show their locations on the map. The color of selection is set in the menu Options\Colors. If on a map there are marked many objects (millions), the marking takes a long time. Marked objects paint over all image of a map that impedes to visual perception of a map.

To speed up the work with large amounts of data and to maintain the perception of the map you can use the menu item Options\Selectively marking. In this case, the first few hundred objects entering the map window is fully marked, then - up to some number - is  marked every the second one, the third and so on. The number of marked objects is significantly reduced, but the user can understand the general placing of marked objects and their number. In this case, all operations over marked objects will be executed in full, even if they are not painted by color of selection.

The exact number of marked objects is always displayed in the bottom part of a map window in the information line.
