Matrix of heights |
Matrix of heights is a regular array of absolute height values on a rectangular segment of terrain. The element of a matrix corresponds to a square section of district, the size of which side is named as accuracy of a matrix. The matrix of height (altitudes) can contain an absolute relief of area or sum of an absolute relief and relative elevations of objects. Matrix of heights may be obtained by different ways: may be built on a vector map in GIS Panorama program; may be created on photogrammetric devices; may be loaded from other GIS system. At creation of a matrix in GIS Panorama the definition the values of elements bases on the analysis of map objects having the information on a relief (objects, having the characteristic "absolute height"; objects having the three-dimensional metrics; objects of a hydrography; structural lines of a relief). At creation the matrix of layers, the information on a district relief undertakes only from picket points, that lowers accuracy of representation the relief forms. It is necessary use the matrix of heights at building the matrix of layers for obtaining more precise information about a surface relief.
